Amen Brown is a lifelong Philadelphian who is standing up for working families,
economic opportunity, and real investment for every neighborhood.

As State Representative for Philadelphia’s 10th Legislative District, Amen Brown is a fearless advocate committed to delivering real results for the people he serves. He fights every day to bring critical resources home—strengthening public safety, expanding job opportunities, supporting seniors, investing in education, and working to end gun violence. Amen leads with courage and conviction, always putting community first.

Elected in 2020, Amen represents a district that reflects his own roots. He serves on key committees, including Commerce, Energy, Environmental & Natural Resource Protection, Housing & Community Development, Liquor Control, Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness, and is a member of the Philadelphia House Delegation, Mental Health Caucus, and Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus.

In Harrisburg, Amen has secured over $50 million for affordable housing, public safety, economic development, youth programs, and services for those experiencing homelessness. He has stood with unions, helped halt pandemic-era sheriff sales to protect homeowners, expanded food access, fought to limit ghost guns, and worked to improve reentry and incarceration policies. In 2023 alone, he brought nearly $10 million back to the district.

Some of Amen’s highlights during his political career include: standing with unions when voting on legislation;bringing back over $50 million to the district to support affordable housing, public safety, economic development, youth programming; the establishment of neighborhood food banks; brokering a historic agreement to end the sale of ghost guns of at Pennsylvania gun shows; getting the $5 co-pay for those incarcerated extended, while fighting for it to be permanent; halting the sheriff sales to stop Philadelphians from losing their home due to the impact of the pandemic; increased constituent services being provided in the district; and creating opportunities for those in community to access good-paying jobs. In 2023 alone, Rep. Amen brought back almost $10 million to the district, which included funds for affordable housing, infrastructure, programming for those that are unhoused, and more.

Before public office, Amen was an entrepreneur who operated daycares and afterschool programs, creating safe spaces and opportunities for young people. Born and raised in Philadelphia and a graduate of Overbrook High School, he remains deeply connected to the community that shaped him—committed to building a safer, stronger future for every family.
